Places/Hotels to avoid as a UK tourist in DENVER?
Travelling to Denver and trying to stay safe…
Pip answers:
Generally, Denver is a very safe city. That being said, just don’t do anything stupid. Stay with other people, don’t go down sketchy alleyways and don’t go to civic center park at night… Besides that there really aren’t many places to avoid.

A nice place to visit in the UK in November?
I’m planning to spent a week in the UK in November. I am looking for a quiet, non tourist place to relax for a week, perhaps with some interesting history. Can anyone recommend a place to visit?
Pip answers:
Looking at your avatar I guess you like the great outdoors and spectacular countryside in which case I would recommennd the Lake District:
http://www.lakedistrict.gov.uk/
There are fantastic walks and places to see:

A good place to stay if it’s your first time to the Lakes is Windermere (on the Lake) and Ambleside has lots of restaurants. There won’t be too many tourists in November.
Grasmere is also nice:

If you don’t fancy a walking/scenery holiday then a good place could be the Peak District, I like Bakewell as a base: (where the real Bakewell Puddings come from) and you can visit Chatsworth and other historical houses:
http://www.chatsworth.org/

http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/main/w-hardwickhall
The link for Hardwick Hall is the National Trust site – check on the site for other places to see in the UK. It’s worth joining because you will soon get value out of your membership fee. The National Trust also has places to stay:

Have a great time!
