I am planning to visit Hastings for a day trip, what ideas could people provide me when I arrive at the area? This would include museums, galleries, attractions and so on, especially those which are near the seafront/bandstand (no comments about how tacky the area is please!).
Nothing tacky about eastbourne, very nice town.
Things to see in eastbourne.
The puppet museum, the lifeboat museum. The pier is very nice with a victorian camera obscurer at the far end. Various boat trips from the see front, a nice promenade. There is also fort fun , and a few other fun fair type things.
Or you could even nip up to beachy head for a look. I would recomend carrting on pass beachy head to a place called Birlling Gap where you can see hte effect of the seas errosion on the small vilage, plus there is a very nice hotel/resturant there that does a very resonable carvery.
Have a nice time.
