What are the tourist attractions in Leeds, UK that I can visit?
I am planning to visit Leeds for a couple of days: what ideas could people provide me when I arrive at the area? This would include museums, galleries, attractions and so on, especially those which are near the city centre (no comments about how tacky the area is please!).
Pip answers:
Leeds is a really nice place to go there is everything from millions of shops to massive nightclubs. Leeds is sometimes called the ‘nightlife capital of the UK’. It is also a massive city

William asks…
Will my American college ID work as a student ID for tourist attractions in the UK?
I am visiting the UK in the summer. Will my college ID allow me to get the student discount when visiting places such as the Tower of London or Edinburgh Castle?
Pip answers:
Edinburgh Castle does not give a student discount.
For places that do, your American ID may work, particularly if it looks similar to a UK card. However it would be best to avoid the risk and buy an International Student Identity Card (ISIC) from your college before you leave.
Sandy asks…
How many tourist attractions are there in the UK?
Can anyone suggest a website where I can find this out? I also need to know how many hotels there are in the UK! It’s a tall order I know, but would be very helpful if anyone can help, thanks
Pip answers:
THE LEISURE GUIDE
This web link has details on almost 2000 attractions in the UK. They are still adding to the site and are asking for submissions.
However, I would suggest there are at least 10,000 more than what the leisure guide has managed to list.
You see, tourist attractions mean different things to different travellers. Some believe a grassy riverbank on public land where they can have a picnic is an “attraction”. Others believe that only things they pay for are an attraction.
Anyway, visit the web site below and go from there and form your own opinion.
Cheers!

What are the local tourist attractions in Brighton, UK?
asically, I have tried surfing the web about ideas what I can do in Brighton during the day, as well as boozing, shopping and clubbing. I am interested: visiting museums; historic houses/buildings;and anything else cultural. Please, please, please…any decent ideas any one?
Pip answers:
There are so so many…
Brighton is the most enchanting, exciting, extraordinary seaside city in Britain. However brazen that may sound, it is no exaggeration.
With its cosmopolitan air, oodles of restaurants, hotels, bed and breakfast places, feverish nightlife and abundance of culture, the place defies comparison with anywhere else this side of the English Channel.
